Maria Jordan Scott was so anxious to greet the world that she was born on a hospital elevator in Columbus, Ohio. She and her younger brother became PK’s (Pastor’s Kids) when her father founded a church in her hometown.

Maria attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee for three years, then earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Information Science from The Ohio State University. She is a retired IT manager.

Maria absolutely loves being the parent of 3 grown children, a daughter-in-love, a son-in-love and a beautiful granddaughter. She calls herself a “genealogy nut”, because she has traveled the U.S. (and stalked the web) in search of family information. The average number of times that an abused woman will leave her abuser and return is 7 times! That means some women leave & return once, but in order to reach an average of 7, some women actually leave & return many more times than 7!
