Here I am, 1am and trying to figure out how to get Jamie Aeryn in Aeryn’s Reckoning, out of an impossible situation that I created for her. I would sleep on it, but sleep eludes me as everytime I close my eyes I see Jamie, faced with another terrible situation and nowhere to turn. So here I sit, instead of using up the last of my useful brain cells in working out a solution, I have adapted the art of distraction. Hopefully this will inspire me or put me to sleep, either way I’m golden.

After getting to know Jamie through 2 books and now into the third, I feel like I am working with a good friend, albeit not a friend who makes great life choices, but still a friend. The kind of friend you can give advice to, but you know they are going to file it away and still think they know best. I worry for her children and the trauma they are having to endure, and the relationships that she has trouble navigating.

My trick for sleep when all I can think about is her next move, is to count…. 1. 2. 3 Oh Jamie can.. Wait… 4. 5. Ok how about…damit. 1. 2. 3 and so on….

So here I am, not counting. Aeryn’s Reckoning is going to be the beast of the books I think, but I am already looking forward to the 4th book. Not sure where this will end, but it is a fun ride.
