"A crucial book for anyone who cares about the fate of our natural world. It is incredibly interesting, the tidbits included about common trees, and the peculiar associations in history. Each country has a rich interplay with many of the modern things we know, such as violins and the particular way the wood for them is grown. Additionally, how there are seeds that have such hydrophobic properties that they are perfect for cleaning up oil spills- but a wonder why we have not worked with nature instead of against it.
