"Although this doesn't focus on America and its history with race and oppression, books on Canada's role aren't as common to find and most people are unaware of the racism that occurred here. Most white Canadians (and Canadian people of colour) are cognizant that racism in Canada exists but are unaware of how bad it was and then the conversation is usually shifted to America. This book is quite a depressing yet necessary read."
