But whatever it is in her writing that made Twilight so incredibly popular is present in The Host, and, even better, not accompanied by the obsessive, juvenile romance that makes Twilight disturbing and scoff-able. Plus, there's body-snatching aliens and a whole colony of doomsday preppers (although, sadly, many of the comedic opportunities were wasted, I must admit)."
