It is near the beginning of Chapter 30--when his fiancé arrived shortly after his coronation-type-celebration. It was quick... she asked him to marry her, and at that time he said no, that he had to honor the contract...

"Then don't marry her! Marry me!" I was shocked at the words that left my mouth. [Synthia]

"It's not that easy," he said, still stalking me as I walked backwards until I was flush against the wall...
