Dr Dabbler Please note: these two books don't fit the criteria of my list, as they are not written specifically for the foreign language learner.

Ah, but these particular editions are....

Dr Dabbler Oh my mistake, sorry. I get confused as Goodreads groups all the editions together and it is hard to see which is the right one. So which edition is for foreign language learners?

The ones I added to your list: L'avare and Le Barbier de Séville. Both are, what is called here, 'schooluitgaven' (school editions). I've added two more just now, La cantatrice chauve & Larimaquoi? Larimarien! and Le silence de la mer. I didn't like these last two when I was in school, even though they did the trick, of course :-)

I have two more books in French, Lettres de Mon Moulin and Les stances à Sophie. but haven't added them as they are not school editions (even though they both date back to my high school days).

Dr Dabbler Thanks for the extra info. But if you didn't like the other two books they also don't fit in the spec of the list. I have many easy French books that are terrible. I'm only including the ones that I like. i.e., the ones that make you want to keep reading until the end.

BookLovingLady (deceased Jan. 25, 2023...) It's the contents (story) I didn't like at the time. It wasn't really appealling to someone in her late teens, I guess :-). But as I said, they did the trick, as they helped us (my classmates and I) improve our knowledge of French, so in that respect they were great learners.

Dr Dabbler Do you like the story _now_? Your rating says you don't. There are so many choices these days that _are_ enjoyable. Why bother recommending ones that you didn't like? That reduces the usefulness of the list.

BookLovingLady (deceased Jan. 25, 2023...) The fact that I didn't like it at the time, doesn't mean to say all of my classmates didn't like the books either. And besides, I've noticed I look upon things in a different light now that I'm older. But you can remove them if you like, after all, it is your list...

Dr Dabbler I don't think I can.

Why not... ? I checked to make sure you are a GR librarian, and as you are, it shouldn't be a problem.

Dr Dabbler Maybe not at the level required. Anyway, I see that it is a ranked list and that you have ranked your items appropriately, so it kind of works out. I've adjusted the ranks of some of my items to prioritise the special books, rather than using the list as an unranked set.

BookLovingLady (deceased Jan. 25, 2023...) There is only one type/level of GR librarians (the other type/level are superlibrarians, which is not the same).

Just go to '(edit)' (= the link at the end of your description) and then go to 'remove particular books' (link at bottom of page).

Do, however, always add in the 'Comments' section of the list exactly which book(s) you deleted and why.

Dr Dabbler Ah thanks, I didn't see that before.
