I personally like science fiction about advanced ancient civilizations that have lived on our planet and
have moved on because of some cosmic anomaly such as the asteroid that wiped out species 65 million years ago. A good example is a novel called "Atlantian Chronicles: Final Prophecy," @ http://members.cox.net/wpmm/ . It even has a trailer.
