Only to the extent that I only first became aware of him when I first saw the trailer for Ang Lee's / Emma Thompson's Sense & Sensibility back in ... hm, whenever it was released, 1996? ... and thought "oh yes - I have no idea who this is but I approve of him as Brandon". :D

I read the book a few years before seeing the film and instantly became fond of Brandon when I read it, so whatever connection there is, is that way around instead.
