Brave New World
by
"Brave New World provides a good story and a vivid world with a lot of unusual situations. It really makes you think about and perhaps reconsider what you would consider an ideal world."

The Giver (The Giver, #1)
by
"The Giver gives an unconventional take on emotions, memory, and the meaning of it all. It's also a maturely themed children's book, dealing with some pretty heavy topics in a way that is easy to digest. It stays with you."

The Things They Carried
by
"The Things They Carried paints a really vivid picture of really grim and graphic situations of war. It kind of makes you question the necessity of war. A lot of books cover this subject, but I don't think many cover it with such classy, grim-faced, dark humor and directness. I really like O'Brien's style."

Bone: The Complete Edition
by
"Bone is a comic book in tome form, yes, but it is an epic tale with iconic characters and really beautifully detailed settings. Plus, it's hilarious. Love this one."

The Little Prince
by
"The Little Prince is uniquely charming. It probably is most described as a children's book, but its themes are pretty mature and wise regarding topics like love and loss. It's practically philosophy."

The Catcher in the Rye
by
"The Catcher in the Rye is stream-of-consciousness writing at its very best. The main character has a mentality of restlessness and discontent, and this is basically the story of his ramblings and trying to make sense of it. It's a fascinating read."
