cool... and #1 is the book in my bag to read next. interesting that american gods is on there, albeit at 25. i didn't think of that as a "magic system" but it's a neat take.

Yeah, it's a good idea for a list. NotW was the first book that even made me think about the idea of different magic systems. GoodReads needs to find a way to make some of these lists based on series instead of single books. The Wheel of Time series is one that's inching it's way up for me, though the length is daunting and I own plenty of others I could start first.
