The Year of the Flood (MaddAddam, #2)
by
"Broader in scope than "Oryx and Crake", this dystopian novel explores different aspects of life in a genetically manupilated and altered world soon to be wiped out. Due to the focus on religion and ecocriticism, I rank this book higher than Oryx and Crake which mostly focuses on one character (Snowman) and the biological engineering."

The Blind Assassin
by
"Intersecting pulp fiction, history and a love triangle, this book shows its craftsmanship by altering effortlessly between genres and time lines with a dry sense of humour and an eye for the small details of life and history in Canada."

Oryx and Crake (MaddAddam, #1)
by
"The invention of the "ChickieNob" - a dark dystopian novel written from the perspective of the last survivor after the death of mankind. Switching between timelines, the reder slowly unreavels what happened and the involvement of the three lead figures in killing human kind and creating a new being. A must read in our world that is determined by genetic manipulations."

I'm Starved for You (Positron, #1)
by
"Darkly satirical, humourous, this witty short story is the first in the "Positron" story collection. In a not-so-far future, the economy in the United States has crashed, and people take part in programs where you live for one month in a prison as "prisoner", and the other month you are the guard. Criminality and poverty are cut down that way - but the "Consilience" project has some unexpected side effects. This dark comedy in written with a very dry sense of humour and a focus on the small everyday fantasies of a married couple - brilliant!"
