I enjoyed The Screwtape Letters. The book I am reading now is about Lewis' fellow Inklings member, Tolkien. Such fun!
Toward the Gleam. The Father Christmas Letters are a treasure. I never knew of them before. Now I own a copy and will read them every year.
Really -- Toward the Gleam is about Tolkien? I must have missed that in the description! It's going on my TBR pile straight away.Yes, the Father Christmas Letters are one of those holiday treasures you end up finding yourself revisiting year after year, aren't they? Like Dickens's Christmas Carol (and other Christmas stories) ...
A fictionalized tale of his discovery of the rune language and how he came to translate it (this is in the simplest terms). And, please do not be turned off by the "religion" others claim to read in the story, it is no more or less than that which appears in The Hobbit, LoTR or books by C.S. Lewis. No banging on the head (I do not care for those books) of religion.
