Hi Julie. I can't tell whether you mean Shipping News, or Birds Without Wings. I'm guessing the later. I think it's just wonderful, so rich and expansive, but told through intimate stories.

Sorry I meant Birds without Wings - a lovely book and better than the much more famous Captain Corelli (although I did like this one too)
