Kara, very much agree with your rating. P&P comes, in my opinion, to the closest in perfection possible for a romance novel. And it's absolutely timeless. I know we all believe everything has already been said about this book, but truth is no praise is ever enough. You are right. Absolute top of the list.

I have. I bought the DVDs in 2008 (for some reason I had a lot of difficulty in finding them). I have watched it many times since. Completely undertood the Brits wrt the all the fuss around Colin Firth as Mr Darcy. As to the book, same here: I read it first when I was 17, and have re-read many, many times since. Never gets old.
