Bryn Hammond Great subject but I see the book is hard to get hold of. Is it better than what Tolkien has to say about the use of monsters? I'm keen on exactly this subject: for instance I have 'Of Giants: Sex, Monsters and the Middle Ages' though frankly I didn't love that much.

Ebirdy lol in the interest of full disclosure...I have no idea! Another friend of mine asked me to vote on that list so I did, but I've never read any of those books. The one I picked sounds interesting though! And Neil would be a good resource to ask because he truly does study the subject. :-)
