When I saw the list, I realized how few Anglo Saxon books I have read, easpecially compared to all the Old Icelandic books I have read. I did try "Beowulf and Lejre" on Amazon, but it is unavailable, unfortunately.

Don't worry about it, I've not read that many on scandinavia. I do try to keep up with the important publications on norse stuff, same with stuff on the German heroic legends but there's new stuff out everyday. Beowulf and Lejre I got on release day. I think they sold out in the first week.

In the Old Icelandic-Norse literature list there are quite a lot of book I would gladly give my vote, but it seems to me that you have also rated the book from 1 to 100. Is that correct? In the Old-Icelandic list there are also quite a lot of books I have read long ago in Norwegian, but here on Goodreads I mostly review, rate, and comment on books I have read in English. I find it a bit strange to vote for or rate a book I haven't read in the English translation the list is referring to.

I didn't vote in any particular order, just how they came to memory. I would say my favourite norse stuff in English would be Dronke's 3 volume Edda or the complete sagas of icelanders. For anglo Saxon it would be Klaeber's beowulf, Ker's catalogue and Mitchell's syntax.

On Amazon Dronke's books are priced at £120 - £140! A bit too much I think.

Most oxford books are a bit too pricey. Look up Neil Ker's anglo saxon catalogue, now that's expensive.
