The Women
by
"This book is written in such a simple, straightforward manner, but it is also shocking, visceral, and thought-provoking. That war and its legacy, the political climate at the time, the treatment of returning veterans, and their struggles after coming home... these are all complicated issues to navigate, but I thought the author did so in a sensitive manner. It was engrossing and moving and made me ugly cry many times."

Quicksilver (Fae & Alchemy, #1)
by
"This was such a fun and such a satisfying read. The characters, the world, the magic, the plot, the romance, the humour... it was wonderful. I found the romance in particular believable and incredibly moving."

Ruthless Vows (Letters of Enchantment, #2)
by
"This is a beautiful, moving story. Rebecca Ross weaves magic with her words. I love storytelling through letter writing, but this book had some of the most beautiful quotes that I have read this year. "

Shadow & Storms (The Legends of Thezmarr, #4)
by
"What an amazing and satisfying end to the series! I've had the best time reading the Legends of Thezmarr. It's just been so much fun with each book better than the last. Shadow & Storms was awesome!

I loved the characters and especially the found family, which is such a strength of this series and part of what made it such an enjoyable read. I paused halfway through this book to read Slaying the Shadow Prince. Bringing together the amazing characters from this series and those from the prequel was bliss. What an emotional rollercoaster, though. The story was so exciting and really put me through the wringer. I'm still shaken by the last 30%. This book made me laugh, cry, ugly cry, and go up in flames. The action sequences were great. So many touching moments filled with courage, loyalty, and love. I was 100% invested in the romance. It really peaked in this book. The spice was outrageously good, too. This series speaks strongly to tough women, standing up, being counted, and achieving their full potential against adversity. It is about women having each other's back. It highlights the respect and love of partners and friends who support you to be the best and strongest you." See Review |

House of Flame and Shadow (Crescent City, #3)
by
"I realise a lot of people were disappointed by this book, but I actually felt it surpassed the two books before it. While this is not my favourite of her books or series, SJM writes beautifully, and I had such a fun time reading this book. "

When the Moon Hatched (Moonfall, #1)
by
"I had a great time reading this book. I found the world Parker created so interesting, and I loved the characters. The banter was fun, and Raeve's internal monologue made me laugh a lot. The romance was beautiful but painful at times. This book left me in tears more than once as the backstory of the characters was revealed."

The Familiar
by
"I thought this was masterfully done. I really enjoy the way Bardugo crafts sentences and the language she uses. I loved the historical setting. I found all the characters so interesting, but also a little dry, so it took me a while to warm up to them. Once I did, I was totally taken by the romance. Yes, there were tears. I thought the last few chapters were beautiful."

First Lie Wins
by
"I had a lot of fun with this book. It's not my usual genre, and for a while there, I wasn't sure what to think of it. The stakes got higher and higher, and I couldn't decide whether to feel worried for the characters or just plain disturbed at all the double crossing that was going on. It was intriguing and kept me hooked right to the end."
