Some of authors on the list don't make much sense as "new" J.R.R. Tolkien and J.K. Rowling and Dan Brown were the most obvious misfits.

Most of these authors are hardly new. Think before you add people.
What is new? It's true that this list could outdate itself pretty quickly...
First Night of SummerLandon Parham
A gritty, fast-paced, must read psychological thriller/ mystery. Disturbing yet relevant---and full of emotion. Not for the faint of heart. I found it to be a touching story where good triumphs over evil. Great ending!

Escape World PeaceThis is a new mystery/suspense Biblical Fiction book about the end of the world. It will keep you guessing.
A recent new author with a strong voice is Rosemary A Johns writer of Blood Dragons and Blood Shackles Both books written strongly and unique, where most authors sound quite similar. Older example but not new would br Tolkien or Mikhail Bulgakov both very unique. Good voice has to challenge you and make you feel your really there experiencing it.
It seems there is an English translation coming of Lize Spit's debut novel Het smelt, written in Dutch/Flemish, and as it is a truly marvellous first novel, I've added it.
It's so frustrating there're so many really old books/classics. It's not a list you can depend on - even if you keep it mind it was created 10 years ago.
