The scourge of published AI-generated books continues. This list calls out some of those with publication dates in June 2025. The majority of those will have ChatGPT-generated covers; it will be useful to readers looking for authentic books to recognize the style of those.

Of course there are many more AI-generated books published than any sane human can capture in one list. Please add any you come across in your travels through online bookselling sites, and PROTECT READERS from inadvertently falling for these soulless abominations, these mockeries of art and literature and humanity.

AI books are slop. If you use AI to write any of your words, you have produced slop. Nobody wants to read this. Why would you publish this? Why do you think you deserve money for this?

Kent Chen I am reaching out to authors impacted by the labeling of their work as AI-written to notify them of the attacks some members are making on their books. Here are two of the responses I recieved this morning:

Janet Carson Hi Kent, No I was not aware of such a group. Thank you for enlightening me. It took me 3 years to write the book. I did a lot of research on Italy to be able to write the book so no AI help. I wi say I used a writer's software to help with formatting called Atticus which I absolutely love. L

Sage Whitmore I was not aware of that. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I did use AI to help with the cover of my book, I wonder if that’s why they assume it’s an AI written work?

Kent Chen I will ask again, what is the decision criteria used by the Librarians based on hard evidence that a book is "AI-written"? If the Librarians cannot cite hard evidence, I am asking that all of the miscategorized books be removed immediately from the numerous Listopia lists categorizing books as "AI-written" and the erroneous tags such as "AI slop" be removed from the mis-tagged books.

M.M. Raspberry I M.M. Raspberry am the best ID'er of ai written books in the world. Much much better than the painfully bad id'ing done by others with fruits for last names. At least my fruit last name can also be a fart! Funny cause the books beforer I came through and improved this list stunk so maybe I'm not a fart raspberry but my momma did tell me I stank. She also taught me to id ai written books using her secret knowledge about cia having ai in the 1900s. Since none of y'all on this Goodreads have told anyone how you id ai written books, here's my method. Get comfortable. Put on a tin foil hat - Reynolds is best. Thej squint at books and you'll see they are AI written and then click click click and make sure the world knows they are AI. Why? cause I hate AI way way way more than any other fruit person like strawberry or banana or kumquat. Why? Cause raspberries rule!!! Down with Ai! Down with other fruits! Yeah me!
