message 405: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie Allison wrote: "lol wat part was that?"

Um, it was when Bilbo was stuck in The Mines of Moria and he met golem. He was playing a game of ridles with golem for some reason I can't remeber.

If you go back to the list there's a spot that says,

Nanci I think the list is populated by our adding books and authors to it.
Q-who is Tamora Pierce?

Stephanie Socialism sucks, it leads to communism which also sucks...well, you get what I mean. Besides it doesn't even work either.

message 436: by Nanci (new)

Nanci Brittany-Not a Mormon. 'A mature' momma. This is not meant as a criticism, simply a point of curiousity - are you under 20 years old? My observations over the years have led me to think that as our world becomes smaller and supposedly more diverse, with more 'opportunities' for information, we are becoming narrower in what is actually being presented in our educational environments...

It can and I don't want a big arguement, I was just answering Samia's questions. I get what you're saying I just think if we're careful and everyone respects each other and other's beliefs that it'd probably be fine and we might be able to learn something from each other, not that I'm going to start talking about religion all the time just if it comes up you know?

I don't mean to offend, attack, ect. anyone!!! And I'm sorry if I have, it was NOT my intention!

message 446: by Allison (new)

Allison u didn't offend me its just it could offend someone reading the conversations and i personaly don't want a big realigious fight to start. but yeah... thats wat i meant :)

Oh, okay well thank you for the concern and everthing! I don't want a fight to start either!

message 448: by Nanci (new)

Nanci Brittany wrote: "i'm just curious...not to be rude or anything...does anybody in this conversation support Obama? I think i should have asked before i posted that one quote and the story about the college professor..."

Brittany-Your comment should not be taken as political. One can support a person, without supporting their policies. In the United States, at this time, our first amendment rights of free speech are guaranteed to all, not merely those who agree with current policies. "All that is necessary for Evil to triumph is for good people to do nothing" An informed, active population cannot become enslaved.
At the present, we are an unimformed people.

message 449: by Samia (new)

Samia Umm...thanks for the suggestion of the mormon books in the library thing, Stepanie, but i think i'm good for now! ;)

message 450: by Samia (new)

Samia Yeah, i don't find this list wierd.
I think it's cool to discuss books with people you don't know at all...
It's sort of like a book club, without ever seeing the people... =D
