I will never feel ashamed for reading anything that I have read. I am very proud of myself for the hundreds of books I have read. Twilight is at the top of my much loved books. My mom also loves Twilight and she is in her fifties. Do you think she is going to be ashamed of herself when she grows up? I think not.

Is this series good? I have really wanted to get my hands on them.

JK Rowling
Esme Raji Codell
Margaret Peterson Haddix
i can't think of the other two."
haven't you ever heard of Colette?
stephenie meyer is a shame how dare she make the worst books ever made

So I have really wanted to read Rick Riordan's books. Can anyone tell me how they are?

The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan's Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth, The Last Olympian.
Also has anyone ever read the Daughters of the Moon, or Sons of the Dark. They are REALLY GOOD!!!

Lynne Ewing. There are 13 books in daughters of the moon, and 4 in sons of the dark. You are suppose to read them together. like the first 11 of DoM, then the first 2 of SoD, then 12 of DoM, the the last 2 of SoD, then the last DoM.
I have now read the series twice, they are really short and only about a days read or less for me. But if you are a fan of young adult fantasy, they are awesome!
oh okay i'll have to look then :)

"
so about twilight haha ok no more twilight im tired of hearing about it

The list also gave me some new threads to follow up on - and reminded me of some authors I'd forgotten and will follow up on. C'mon guys, we all love what we love and it really doesn't matter if anyone else agrees!

Yeah! It's AWSOME!!

I knwo it's not liek he's Edward!!! No offense but I have to say Edward is so much cooler than him! LOl, I knwo I sound rediculess with comparing somethign totaly not real to someoone real but....still...

kissed by an angel was ok. I read all three of the books in the series.

I have a plan...."
I knwo I'm not sure which series was better they were both SO GOOD!

HEy, I already had a debate with Russ, I don't think he's even reading this anymore so....yeah. I love teh Twilight books too I've read them like three times (except Breaking Dawn, never read that one). They're some of my faves. But lets just let the Twilight arguments die (everyone) okay? PLEase, I'm not trying to tell anyone what to do but still...just a request.

I read the Percy Jackson adn the Olympians series and they were AMAZING! I've read them al at least twice.
And my mom read the first book to the 39 Clues series (it's written by him Riordan) she said it was pretty good. You know you may like the Fablehaven series.

what are they about?

What "strong, young female" in TKAM would you be talking about? Scout Finch? I disagree with your characterization of the annoying little girl. She is quite young and impressionable, and she doesn't understand much of what goes on in her backwards little town. Remember, Scout is an adult when she tells the story. Any strength or understanding that she evinces is that of a grown woman.
As for Twilight, granted, no great lessons to be taught with this series. The writing is messy. However, as a veteran teacher, if my students are excited to read the series, I am happy to encourage it. Then, it is my job to guide them to more sophisticated pieces of literature. Let's face it, Catherine & Healthcliff aren't the model couple for love and tenderness, but their love story makes up the classic that is Wuthering Heights. Sometimes a book shows us what NOT to do in life!
Happy reading!!! :-)

Have you ever seen true blood? It's an HBO tv series based on that series of books. It's REALLY good!

I'm not an "anti-feminist dreamer", but I love the series and so does pretty much everybody that I know. I don't like them for their "quality writing", but I like them because they are fun and exciting to read.

I hate Stephanie M
eyer also!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have read the Twilight books, and loved them. I have also read Dan Brown's books, all of them. I can't wait for the newest one to come out. So I just wanted to say that it has nothing to do with more insightful and fascinating books. It has to do with what you enjoy. I enjoy a very wide range of things.
