One of the best psychological thriller novel written by British–Cypriot author Alex Michaelides.

I AGREE! i literally could not believe that she was in the top twenty. like literal garbage. that new emo pop novel is taking up a whole spot for a book worthy of it. each genre should have its own list. the entire world is not going to be able to agree with just one book, if certain people only like certain styles or genres. this list and voting poll is stupid.

HYE,,,, I HAVE READ THIS BOOK !! SO BASICALLY MY THOUGHTS ARAEE THTA...,..,,, NOT THAT GOOD. WELL MAYNE NOT BAD BUT DEFINITELY NOT THE BEST. HOPING THE CREATORD OF THIS LIST WILL TAKR THIS INTO CONSIDERATION :))))))) LOVE U DRINK WATER ADN REST WELL !!!! YOUV GOT A BIG DAY TOMORROW CHAMP (TAKING THIS BOOK OF THE LIST)

seriously, jane austen? errughhh."
SAMEEEEE> Bronte is the worst. Period.

Also, twilight?? There are better ones out there. Tbh I'm dissapointed.

There are three types of literature/novel readers in the world:
- The critics (they focus on the themes and symbolism)
- The everymen (they focus on the wish fulfillment, which isn't a bad thing)
- The
So which one(s) are you and why, and how do you gauge books based on taste?

I agree, although they may become classics in the future.

I have never read Twilight before. Can you all explain to me why you believe Twilight is the best/worst book? I'm trying to decide on whether I should read it; it looks like one of those books I wouldn't like, as I am an aromantic and asexual individual, but what do you all think? (BTW, I liked Jane Eyre and almost all of the Jane Austen books I have read so far, and those have some romance. Is Stephanie Meyer's writing style and storyline anything like Jane Austen's, or is Twilight anything like the book Jane Eyre?)

I can't find it now, but someone compared Twilight to Wuthering Heights (it's referenced by Bella, and I guess similar? I never read WH). Also they hated it.
I would say check out the first book if you really want, otherwise maybe just watch the movies to save time? It's hard to recc something when one book is like 700 pages, and they're all fat.

To me, Twilight does not measure up.
I don't hate the Twilight series, but they had they're time. Now more people are reading authors like Penelope Douglas, Brittainy C. Cherry and Colleen Hoover.

I have read Wuthering Heights before, but I did not like it very much. If it was similar, I probably would only encounter more frustrations, but if it isn't, as Catherine believes, I still doubt that I would enjoy it. :p Maybe I might read a sample, and if I feel too tortured to finish, I could simply stop reading.
Have either of you read Pride and Prejudice and/or Jane Eyre? I loved those books, and I thought Elizabeth, although having flaws, was really powerful heroine, and I thought Jane was an interesting narrator. Do you think that Bella is anything like those characters?

No, I don't think Bella is like those characters. She was very moody and broody in New Moon. I couldn't wait to finish that book.
As for Wuthering Heights I saw the movie before I read the book. I like to read the book, first.
I liked Last of the Mohicans. Very good book and movie.

I have read a couple of book reviews about Twilight, and I had a classmate in seventh grade who read it. It does seem like Bella would be a character I would be frustrated with. I guess I should just stick with the classics!

Yeah. I do have this large pile of books on my want-to-read shelf, many of which are by new authors, so I really have to start reading! XD

I haven't read the books you mentioned yet. I know, I'm terrible T_T;;;;

Wow, is Bella really that bad? If you could describe her personality in a few words, what words would you describe her with?

Oh. What did she do to make herself a downer?

During the series she goes from kind of average Mary Sue to ULTIMATE Mary Sue.
It's dumb, Team Edward tho.

Wow, those things sound ridiculous. Why would you even flirt with a werewolf? And from what I have heard, isn't Edward a vampire? Wouldn't you be in danger if you are stuck with either of them?

LOL though. The ridiculousness of Twilight makes me feel even more curious about it! XD XD

They are fun to see how ridiculous they are. Like if I could write bad summary
(view spoiler)
I didn't read the gender swap or the new Edward POV book. But I'm going to because I am trash lmao
Edward's family are "vegetarian" cause they feed off animals instead of people, and all the other vamps think they're weirdos lol

Same here. Da Vinci Code is famous only because it's controversial.
but seriously, this list is bonkers
someone fix this mess they call the best!!!
