I've wrestled with a lot of plot problems on long walks or in the shower. This sort of unplugged time gives my brain space to process things in the background. For more general lack of inspiration, the key is showing up anyway and writing at least a few words to keep in touch with the project. Not every day has to be a big day. You can write through block by scraping out a hundred words a day until something comes loose.(less)
