Kirsten was born in Washington, but raised in Mesa Arizona where she went to High School and Met her Husband Jim VanderWall. A year after getting married in 1991 she and her husband moved to Salem Oregon. They had two children in Salem, Devin, and Larissa before moving to Washington again. During the year and a half that they spent in Washington, they had another son James. They then moved back to Hillsboro Oregon where they had their last three daughters Niki, Viann, and Tessa.

She began writing when she was in Middle school discovering her love of Poetry. She had several poems printed in a creative writing magazine, but she struggled with reading and writing during most of her school because of Dyslexia, which is still an issue for her to ...more
