Jonathan began writing stories at an early age and recently uncovered an old attempt at a Count Dracula tale, probably written when he was around eleven. Inspired by authors such as Douglas Adams, Terrance Dicks, Roald Dahl, and later Dean Koontz, he developed a lasting love of fantasy and science fiction.

Jonathan studied Systems Design at the University of the West of England, Bristol, before spending much of his career in the IT industry, living and working across the UK, Estonia, Bulgaria, Malaysia and Cyprus.

His travels inspired several non-fiction books on property investment before leading him to write The Secret on the Second Shelf, a supernatural fantasy adventure for readers aged 8+. Jonathan is a father of three and enjoys photogr ...more

I don't think you can really force it and I also don't think you should overly stress about it either. We aren't robots, permanently switched on, and we need to be feeling "in the mood". Even if you have to skips days, weeks, even months, I don't think it's a bad thing. It's a problem if you are having to work to tight deadlines not imposed by yourself - but otherwise, I recommend being a little more relaxed.(less)

If we write a book and no-one reads it, that's very sad and has little reward. Having released my first fictional title (The Secret on the Second Shelf), I just want as many people as possible to read it and enter a world that they perhaps never imagined - and see how they react to it.(less)
