I've been binge-reading this series for the past week. Great worldbuilding, compelling characters, complex plot, amazing writing... it has EVERYTHING.

I actually finished this one on an all-nighter on Sunday. Started reading at 11 pm, kept reading in bed (bless the Kindle Paperwhite), and absolutely could not put it down. By the time I realized it, I was 90% through, and it was 6 am.

Han is looking for his friend Rebecca Morley who was kidnapped by the Bayars, following her tracks and hoping she is still alive. His disbelief when he finally finds her, and his hopes to keep her alive could cost him his own life, which may have been a risk not worth taking once he discovers Rebecca's real identity. Now he must put aside his feelings of betrayal and keep his end of the bargain with the clans, and that means do anything it takes to see Raisa in the throne and alive.

Raisa's kidnapped, gets away, and is saved by Han. He takes her to the clans who then reveal who she really is to him. He goes with her into court and ensures her safety. People are still trying to kill her. The three Bayars are each trying their different games for the throne. Cat is now her handmaiden, so that she may be protected.
