I didn’t think I would like it because I don’t like realistic fiction, but it was a very touching story filled with characters who were navigating a difficult transition to a new country and learning a new way of existing as a family and as immigrants. I appreciated the voice of the main character, and I felt like other characters existed in gray areas that I’m still grappling with. Overall, though, I enjoyed it and finished it in one sitting.
