FINLEY JAYNE, our late 19th century English heroine, can knock full-grown men out cold in a corset made out of steel, no less. No wonder she is ill-tempered. Paying homage to Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as well as reminiscent of Oliver Twist, Kate Locke’s steampunk The Girl in the Steel Corset introduces us to a group of peculiar outsiders, whose newest addition thrashes back and forth between her good and evil natures.

5 stars for steampunk theme.
-2 stars because the kiss I waited for did not happen.
Ugh.
Probably gonna read the sequel.
I've a few complaints about the book, but after reading some of the reviews on this site I do not feel like typing them out.

I'd give this one about 3.5 stars.

When Kady Cross described The Girl in the Steel Corset as a cross between League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and X-Men , I thought that she was being overly ambitious. I mean, those are two of my favorite movies, and who was she to compare her books to them? But man, oh man, Ms. Cross hit the nail on the head with this one! The result is a book that an exciting, alluring, and dangerously addicting adventure from start to finish.
