The FountainPenDiva, Old school geek chick and lover of teddy bears
The cover says it all! A sexy, strong, fierce Black woman with natural hair and it's a different take on steampunk. What more could a black geek chick possibly ask for?

How do I love this book? \m/ Seriously, this book is just so many types of AWESOME *sings AWESOME at the top of my lungs* The cover rocks and just for the record New York publishing, people BOUGHT IT so stop with the whitewashing, okay?

It's taken me awhile to craft a full review because I was still trying to put into words just ho

This is one hell of a book. The setting is an astonishing blend of steampunk, cyberpunk, and new weird. The magic system steals the trappings of legal drama and puts them to use with the sumptous setting and impressive line-by-line, page-by-page prose.

Seriously, just read this book.

I have loved fantasy for a very long time, thanks to my nerdy fairy godmother. But I always had trouble finding books with characters who look like me. By that, I mean female and Black. Obviously that doesn't mean that I don't connect with protagonists who are not like me. But when I found a character who was like me, I jumped on that book/story.

Imagine my surprise and delight when I read about this book, and then not ten minutes later my husband mentions that he's heard of this book online and
