Firstly, I wish there was a way to give this novel TEN STARS because like every single book she's ever written, it is a masterpiece of surperb writing, compelling characters and thought-provoking themes like sex, race and class - issues seldom dealt with in even the finest speculative fiction.

This is a wonderful novel by the late Octavia E. Butler. My only regret is that it will not be continued as many great novels set in a well-developed universe tend to continue. I would love to see the characters explored further, or new generations coming along with the new traits developed by the tragic families.

I loved Wild Seed and Kindred. Octavia Butler was an incredible writer. I remember reading Lilith's Brood and wondering how she'd managed to make a scene with a woman in an empty room so fascinating. No gimmicks, just good writing.
