I originally read this in high school. I read it again since it was currently on sale and its OCTAVIA BUTLER.

If Octavia wasn't already my favorite writer, she would be all over again.

This book is so excellent. I couldn't put it down. it made me want to reread The Road

It was interesting to see the themes she explores in all of her books: community

I wonder if Octavia had a large community or if she wrote about communities because its something she lacked.
