An excellent example of a well crafted rite or passage tale. From the start Zahrah is a likeable character, whose trials and tribulations through the book, reveal the depth of her courage, and her ability to do the impossible.
A fantastic empowering books for all of us "shy" girls - who have stood at the edges and let others dictate the terms of our existence. A must read for any girl who is experiencing the bullying that comes from misunderstanding and fear.
