Oh. Diosa. Santa

I give this one closer to a 3.75.
On the plus side - this one was so easy to get into and I didn't want to stop reading it. I liked the main character, was rooting for her the whole time. She's got a lot of emotional baggage and hides it with heaping doses of sarcasm, but it didn't stray into "too bitter" territory for me (a fine line with prickly characters). I liked the other characters, the hidden societies of people with "superpowers". THis one deals with time travel - usually this "power" ma ...more

Quick read, interesting topic...yet for me, it just felt flat. I couldn't connect or relate to the main character Emerson. She acted one way with her friend Lily, another way with Michael, and then another way with Kaleb. Most of the time I thought she was whiny and clingy. I can't quite put my finger on it, but for whatever reason, this book just wasn't for me.

I thought this was gonna be about ghosts. It was actually about time travel. It was okay, though I saw the twist a mile away. And that's pretty bad, since I'm never looking for a twist and they usually surprise me. Emerson is too perfect, and most everyone else is not well defined. I'm not sure I care about what happens next. Very meh.
