I just finished reading the first 2 books in the Infernal Devices series. Since book 3 is not out yet, I figured it was time to start on The Mortal Instruments series. I will say, you do not have to read The Infernal Devices to be able to follow this series, but it makes it more intriguing when you see familiar surnames and all you can do is wonder at their lineage. I really can't wait for book 3 to come out, but I digress... :-) On the The City of Bones.

Really enjoyed this story.

Clary returns home after one of the Shadowhunters, Jace, approaches her. She wasn't supposed to be able to see them. A 'mundane' can't see them when they choose to hide. Her mother's kidnapped and her f

The beginning was a little tough to get through and this may be because it's the setup of the story , but well worth your time. I absolutely loved it and I can't wait to read the next one. I am giving this one five out of five stars because it was well written. I laughed at times and got angry, I was also amazed because some things were unexpected and I'm usually good at guessing what will happen next. There is nothing cliché about this tale. ...more
