What Members Thought

Very personal but well crafted memoir of childhood and teen years in Mississippi poverty, with the agonizing loss of several young male relatives including her brother. Ward really paints a picture, just as she did with her national Book Award novel Salvage The Bones- and raises painful questions concerning the legacy of inequality in the Deep South.
