A difficult but endearing read. The plot centers around four orphans in Brooklyn who get roped into an undercover mob scheme to become the Minna Men. In addition, Lionel, the narrator, suffers from Tourette's Syndrome, which causes him to scream and tap incessantly. Lionel's quest in the book is to find his mentor, Frank's, murderer. The final answer is revealed amid Lionel's tics and rambling.
