This book is beautifully written. The emotions are deep that you actually think your Melanie/Wanderer. Invaders called The Souls took earth over, their intentions were pure. They didn’t want to harm anyone or anything. They have The Healers, The Seekers, The Comforters Ect. The main characters are Ian, Jared, Jamie, Melanie and Wanderer. I read this book after reading the Twilight series. I was so lost without Edward and Bella, still am and hope she isn't done with this series. It was sort of hard to switch from Twilight to The Host at first but I kept reading and enjoyed it a lot.
I was dissapointed that it wasn't more adult than the Twilight Series though, not sure why this was considered an adult novel. It was a unique story line and I was surprised that I loved the alien more than humans. I totally recommend this if you are ...more

This book was amazing, I didn't expect it to be as good as Twilight as I don't read much sci-fi, it was comletely different from my expectations. Stephenie Meyer is such a great author. Read a review on this when I was nearly finished and found out what happened at the end, but apart from that I loved it.

this is so different from the twilight saga but i was completely wrapped up in this imaginary world. it is a little bit of a slow start but otherwise it is a great book and i recomend it to any one..... not just twilight lovers!
it waz kinda boring at first but it got better

It was a cool story. I wasn't expecting it to be like there would be aliens of some sort. But there were. I can't wait Book2.
