I read this book awhile ago. My sister-in-law lent it to me. I wasn't sure I would like it because I didn't think I could get into a book about a traveling circus during the great depression. However, I loved it. Rosie the elephant was great, although the animal cruelty was hard to take.

Although I pictured Robert Pattinson (sp?) and Reece Witherspoon the whole time, I did enjoy it. It was an interesting behind the scenes of a circus, warts and all. I liked the characters, especially Jacob as an older man. Reminds me of my M.O.W. clients.
Thoroughly enjoyable read - fascinating history entwined.
