What Members Thought
Voice of the generation - maybe it was in 1950s. For me, child of 1990s and beginning of 21st century, it's a story about cynical liar, hookers, drugs and sex. I'm not intellectual and maybe because of that I think it's a book for Americans who went to the single sex (male) boarding schools and tried to play great philosophers in New York. In Russia everyone is a philisopher - you don't need boarding school and New York for that.

I absolutely hated this book! I don't know why exactly, but I couldn't stand it, not the writing and especially not Holden... blech
