Once as a teenager, once when my kids were reading it in high school, and eight or nine times because Holden Caulfield is the imaginary best friend of the protagonist in my new novel in progress: Catcher, Caught. A classic, what can I say. I do think I understood all the hidden meanings much better this time around, as compared to when I had to read it for 11th grade English!
