Shelves: novela, clasicos, ingleses

Novela dramática, romántica, dolorosa y alcohólica. Entre los vapores del mezcal, el tequila, la cerveza y el whisky, Geoffrey Firmin naufraga y destroza todo lo que le rodea. Mágica, neblinosa, a veces parece que hay que estar borracho para leer esta obra maestra.

Mind blowing stuff here!!! If I were ever in a situation where I could only have one book, I might seriously consider choosing this book. There are so many layers of this onion to peel that one reading surely can not do it justice.

On this first reading, I did not find the story all that interesting and the forshadowing of the Counsel's doom was too obvious. The story may have let me down but the writing was magnificent. The final sentence may be one of the best ever written, not for its beauty, ...more

If you like long, drawn out descriptions and lots of melodrama this is the book for you.
