I read The Death of Ivan Ilyich again in February of 2008. While it was certainly over my head at the tender age of 20, it hit me in the gut at the age of 44. Am I living life the way it should be lived? Does my vainity get in the way? A short powerful timeless story for middle aged yuppies.
