I got this book in Singapore, my boyfriend bought it for me. I know this is the book to start with when you're a Banana novice, but I started with Tsugumi first. It wasn't disappointing, I like it even better than Kitchen.
Kitchen is a story about loss and loneliness. I like how Banana roams around with her stories, teases with her characters and plots, and finally touches us with her words. I like how the ending works. I even like Moonlight shadow, the second short story in the book, better.

Very good but not great. I really wanted more from the first story. I hope she exands it someday and writes a full novel from the story. She's got some great characters...I would love to know more about all of them. The second story was overly sentimental...could have lived without.
