This is a quirky story told from the perspective of each member of a family who rent a holiday home in the English countryside for the summer. When a mysterious stranger arrives, you get a facet of her from each description but never enough to complete the whole picture of who she might be. There’s a twist in the tale once the mother throws her out though.

I'm still not sure what to think of this one. I wish we could do "half star" ratings, because while I'd give this one a 4 for technical merit, I only rated it a 3 for overal merit. Very clever story, intriguing premise and the writing was certainly creative--stream of consciousness at times, ongoing lists at others, random thoughts....but it made for a very distracting and schizophrenic reading experience. Still, I'd recommend it just for the unique story and characters.

This book was very disappointing, in so many ways. The book started off very slow for me. It took me a couple of chapters before I was able to get into the book. Once I figured out what was going on with the story, I found myself lost with a few of the chapters that didn't seem to have anything to do with the plot. I had finally made it to the end and felt there was no conclusion to the story.
