This book surprised me by how much I enjoyed it. The characters were eccentric and the story unfolded in a pleasantly unpredictable fashion.
On the surface this book is about two women trying to pry their aged father from the grips of a 36 year old gold digger but it's also about family, loyality, secrets, and forgiveness. I really liked the way the Ukrainian history was woven throughout the book. Good mix of humor and sadness.

I would give this book 3 1/2 stars if that was possible. I liked it but not as much as I thought I would. Somehow, after reading all these raving reviews, I had expected more. Or something differently. I can't really put my finger on it.
