See, already...part of me wants to turn around and start this all up again, looking up all the references, trying to find out what autobiographical influences it contains...and part of me wants to take these two gigantic books outside and leave them in the snow. From the day I picked up the first of these two massive tomes this struck me as a work which would change my view of what fiction could do and how it could do it. There's no way a review (or at least not mine) could do this justice. If you're a person that breathes and exists in both time and space, I would advise that you read these books.
