I've never been interested in reading books that read from the perspective of a dog, and there's been several of them out there. And if it weren't for several friends that told me that this book was really good, I would have never picked it up. But I have to say that I really got into this story from the very beginning, starting with wonderful writing. I loved so many things about this book! The premise is sweet, the writing is great, and it’s packed full of revelations about life from a dog’s perspective, which sounds corny but this is quality literary fiction not a gimmick. That said, I was a tad disappointed in the ending. I guess you can’t have it all, but it was the type of ending I least like (trying to avoid spoilers). Still, this was a lovely little book and I’m glad I finally got around to it.

Fábula triste y melancólica, con un protagonista peculiar... Vuelven los temas permanentes de Auster, envueltos esta vez en un ropaje más clasicista, cumplida con la solvencia y soltura acostumbrada. Pero poco más.
