A tour de force, I read it twice in one sitting. It took him 7 years to do the research for this book, to become Virginia Woolf in three different time periods. Amazing read. A classic, particularly for writers who want to tell a story from different points of view and make it cohesive. Right up there with Kingsolver's Poisonwood Bible. ...more

I can't remember if I read the book before the movie or vice versa but I thought both were great. I loved the way the stories all intertwine although it was a bit hard to follow at first. All the characters are longing for something else, something more in a way that made my heart hurt. ...more
