I had a difficult time reaching this book.of course,I'm talking about the translation.I could only read it at the library for 2 or 3 hours.so I went there several times spending time reading it,but considering how heavy the book was,I could only manage to read two third of the book during 3 months.after that,I couldn't wait any longer,so I started the English version which was close at hand...and,boy,was I hooked!I kept reading at nights until very late because I was so busy during the day,and I

This book is one of those rare stories that really transports you to another world. There are vivid descriptions of everything from the area in Japan where the story took place to the beautiful clothing and the almost torturous preparations this geisha went through. I've read the book twice, once when it first came out and again before I saw the movie.
